Exploring Colour with Nature for Children

A wonderful colourful book ideal for young children who are exploring the world of colour takes children through each season of the year; showing how colour can be mixed and also educating them on the colour changes that occur in nature.

This book inspired me to take my young nephew for a woodland walk and gather, leaves and spring wildflowers. After taking time to actually look at the aray of colours in nature, we took our natural materials home to make a caterpilar collage. We used coloured paints, threads and the wildflowers and leaves that we had gathered to produce a spontanious and colourful caterpillar collage with our hand and foot prints also.

Colour Dreaming

Do you dream in colour? You may or may not be aware of it, but most dreams occur in colour, as colour is such an integral part of seeing we often take for granted its presence. If you are more aware of colour when awake you'll be more prone to notice the colours that you experience when asleep. Take note of the colours that you experience in your dream state ... what are they? Where or on what do they appear?
Colours within dreams often have a significant message for us, what do your colourful dreams say to you?

Nature Nurtures the Soul

Nature inspires us to look beyond the busy hustle and bustle of our everyday lives it brings us back to our centre and nurtures the soul.

A recent visit to the sea brought home to us the beauty and wonderful palette of colours that surround and enhance natural landscapes. The colours of nature are pure and vibrant, stimulating our senses and lifting our spirits above and beyond the mundane.

The sunlight of the late afternoon skimming the rugged coastline, illuminating and lifting the array of lush green grass that cover the hillsides. The dark green patchwork of grass coupled with the fresh and vibrant apple green tones give a feeling that ushes in an energy of strength and renewal.

The glistening turquoise waters reveal deep aquamarine, indigo and jade green which reflect the clear sky blue canvas that meets the ocean. The cooling colours of the ocean and sky calm the entire body, clear the mind and create an inner space that allows us to express ourselves and communicate clearly. Cobwebs are brushed away, revealing a still and peaceful place to contemplate and just be.

Barefoot on the warm sand, the rough and smooth textures beneath our feet bring us back to the here and now. Circular shells buried in the sand remind us of the cycle of life, the pearlised rainbow spectrum within a shell reflect back to us the multitude of opportunities that are at our fingertips.
