Colour and Dress

The colours that we wear affect us constantly, as we absorb the colour through our skin. We are affected by the vibrational colour of the clothes we wear, especially if we are wearing natural fibres such as silk.

We are drawn to the colour or colours that we are most in need of at that particular time. Everyone can wear each colour of the spectrum depending on which shade or tone best suits his or her natural skin tone and 'colouring'. A simple guide to choosing the best shade or tone is by holding the coloured garment underneath your chin, does it light - up your face or make you appear tired and off colour? Aim to have a full range of spectrum colours in your wardrobe, so you can then choose garments that will give you a colour boost on a daily basis.

If we apply some colour knowledge to what we wear we can positively change our outlook, giving us an extra boost of confidence for an interview or a renewed sense of vitality for social occasions. try combining orange or pink with black to create and project social power and confidence. Combine yellow with black for mental clarity, intellectual power and persuasive reasoning. Wear magenta or sky blue to enhance your public speaking skills at presentations or performances.

Women can wear their chosen colour by accessorising with coloured scarves or jewellery; semi-precious stones are an excellent way of wearing natural colour. Men can wear coloured ties, cuff links or socks in a selection of colours; a small amount of colour will have the same positive effect. Wearing coloured underwear is a good way of experiencing colour therapy, especially if you are colour shy or have to wear uniform or darker colours for work.
