Hyperactive Children
If your child suffers from tantrums, hyperactivity, sleepless nights, tummy ache or night fears the following exercise will be of use:
- Use four coloured crayons or pencils (never felt tips) in the following colours; pink & light blue or orange & dark blue.
- These colour combinations are the calming colours of the colour first aid kit and will encourage a calm response in your child.
- Keeping the colours in pairs lay them out in front of your child and let them choose a set of colours they are drawn to.
- On a large sheet of white unlined paper (minimum size A4) encourage your child to create individual circles with the colours. You will find they will become quickly absorbed with the exercise.

Whenever your child is upset and restless this simple exercise will have an instant calming effect. You will also note that their breathing becomes easier and more regular. They may let out a sigh or two as they become more relaxed & their whole emotional body regains calm and balance.
